Learning how to cook is beneficial in many ways. It make a person more
dependable on themselves, manages weight, impresses other people, saves money,
better to eat in, convenient, and it’s a fundamental skill worth learning. Out
of all these positives, the most important one to me is it manages weight. According
to
Pujitha Reddy , author of the
article Top 10 Reasons Why You Learn to Cook Today, “You will have
complete control over what you eat at home so home cooking definitely helps to
manage your weight. Learning to cook means to take control over your weight.
You can stick to reasonable amounts of food so that you will not end up eating
too much. You can improve your diet easily by cooking yourself healthy foods at
home. It is a sure fact that calories consumed through homemade foods are
obviously very low compared to the calories consumed through food you eat at
restaurants or food from takeouts.” Comparing Eating out vs. Eating in, eating is
better because “at a restaurant, you have almost no control over how most items
are prepared and you are leaving your health and wellness in the hands of the
chef in the back. At home, you control how much salt is being used, what fat
you use to cook with, the quality of the food product and most of all, you’re
in control of your health and wellness,” says
